“Apostolic”/Missional Leadership—Those gifted in “apostolic” or missional leadership are pioneers, seeking to open new frontiers of mission and expand the church’s outreach to new people groups (i.e., unreached ethnic, religious, or generational groups). These missional leaders often serve as foreign missionaries, domestic church planters, or vision setters for the church’s mission in established congregations (Acts 14:1f). - Church Planting: Establishing new church communities in areas where there is little or no established presence, focusing on both spiritual and community development.
- Cross-Cultural Missions: Leading missions to different cultural groups, both domestically and internationally, to reach unreached people groups with cultural sensitivity and understanding.
- Strategic Missionary Training: Developing training programs for missionaries that cover theology, cultural adaptation, language learning, and practical mission strategies.
- Community Engagement Initiatives: Creating programs to engage with diverse communities, providing practical support alongside gospel outreach.
- Mission-Oriented Discipleship: Mentoring and discipling individuals with a focus on equipping them to enter into missional work or to live missionally in their current contexts.
- Network Building: Forming partnerships with other churches and organizations to collaborate on mission initiatives and community projects.
- Mission Strategy Development: Working with church leadership to develop and articulate a clear vision for the church’s missional engagement, locally and globally.
- Global Missions Oversight: Overseeing the church’s global missions portfolio, ensuring strategic alignment with overall mission goals and effective use of resources.
- Evangelism Training: Equipping church members with the skills and confidence to share their faith across cultural and social barriers.
- Multi-Site Expansion: Leading the expansion of a church into multiple sites, particularly in diverse or underserved areas.
- Urban Ministry: Initiating and leading ministries in urban settings, addressing the complex range of issues faced in urban environments.
- Refugee and Immigrant Ministry: Setting up ministries that specifically serve refugees and immigrants, facilitating their integration into the community and the church.
- Next-Generation Leadership Development: Identifying and training up-and-coming leaders with a missional mindset to ensure the future of the church's missional efforts.
- Social Enterprise Initiatives: Launching community projects or businesses with a social impact that also serve as platforms for ministry and outreach.
- Short-Term Missions Coordination: Organizing and leading short-term missions trips that support long-term mission goals and partnerships.
- Advocacy and Public Faith Engagement: Representing the church in public spheres, advocating for policies and initiatives that align with the mission of the church, and engaging with societal issues from a faith perspective.
