SPIRITUAL GIFTS
<< PREVIOUS GIFT>> <<NEXT GIFT>>
When the body of Christ metaphor is taken seriously, it becomes clear that in order for the church to maximize its mission, all parts of the body must be working together as God intended. This in turn leads to a necessary emphasis upon Spiritual gifts discovery in the body.
These Spiritual gifts are given to “each of us” by Christ, chosen and allotted by the Spirit (1 Cor. 12:11), and activated by God (1 Cor. 12:6). Next Generation for Christ has a Spiritual gifts ministry and study, Using Your Spiritual Gifts, that seeks to help God’s people learn and discover more about their Spiritual gifts so that the church can more fully realize its mission.
There are (at least) four New Testament passages which list various Spiritual gifts (Rom. 12:1-13; 1 Cor. 12:1-30; Eph. 4:11; 1 Pet. 4:1-16). In these videos, people share how they have used their Spiritual gifts to bless God and others in the different areas of their lives: their families, their neighborhood/world/world settings, and in the church.
If you or your church would like to use our Using Your Spiritual Gifts curriculum and the accompanying Spiritual Gifts Assessment, please contact James Nored at [email protected]. For these churches signed up for these materials, the Spiritual Gifts Assessment is available for your church's use.
Here is a list of the Spiritual Gifts, with definitions and some suggested church ministry uses for each gift.
