Next Gen Seminars

Below are some of the main seminar sessions offered by Next Generation for Christ, which can be scheduled and customized according to the needs and schedules of each particular church/organization.

The seminar sessions below are ones that are typically offered. All of these elements covered in these seminars are needed in order to help a church truly become a church that makes disciples, effectively reaches out to the world, and brings people on a larger scale to Christ. However, these seminars are shaped and arranged based the specific needs and interests of each church. Typically, if a church is doing a year’s worth of seminar, coaching, and training, then Seminars 1-3 are offered--with a “Seek, Serve, Share” strategy that is modeled after Jesus’ own life and mission--with Seminar 4 being chosen from the other seminars offered. 

Seminar 1: SEEKING the Lost / REACHING the NEXT GENERATION - “For the Son of Man came to seek and save the lost” (Luke 19:10). This seminar convicts, encourages and inspires the church to have mission and discipleship at the center of its purpose. Lays out the biblical and theological imperative, motivating people to reach out to the lost and the “next generation.” Helps the church and leaders understand today’s postmodern culture and to understand, reach, and retain various generations, including Generation X & Millennials, and Gen Z. 

Seminar 2: SERVING (with) the Community / NEXT GENERATION - “. . . the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve” (Matthew 20:28). This seminar helps equip the church to redemptively serve and meet the needs of its community, neighborhood, and people-group(s) that it is reaching out to. As younger generations are also very service-oriented, looks at how to engage these generations and use service as an entry point for discipleship through ministries, missional communities, and daily life.

Seminar 3: SHARING CHRIST the GOOD NEWS / with the NEXT GENERATION (STORY OF REDEMPTION SEMINAR) - “I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns also, because that is why I was sent” (Luke 4:43). This seminar helps equip the church to lead those that they are seeking and serving to faith. Includes how to have Spiritual conversations, sharing the gospel through various communication forms (social media, websites, teaching, etc.), and seeker groups. 

Includes the Story of Redemption Film Series, an evangelistic Bible study series professionally filmed in Israel and around the world designed to create disciples and lead people to faith.

WELCOMING / GUEST RELATIONS – Did you know that many guests decided within 10 minutes if they will return to your church a second time? Bottom line, without guests, a church cannot grow! Guest relations is the foundation for outreach because it helps members be aware of people coming who are not "insiders." The Welcome to the Family seminar trains members to see the Sunday morning worship experience from a first time guest perspective. From the time guests visit your website until they become member of the church, you will learn step by step processes for welcoming them and following up so they will return. 

Seminar: PASSING FAITH ON to the NEXT GENERATION – This seminar seeks to equip the church and families to pass faith on to our kids, grandkids, young adults, and others. Helps families, teens, young adutls, and the alrger church navigagte moral and sexual issues, technology challenges and opportunities, secularism, tough questions, and different religions. Also looks at the importance of individuals and families going on mission together for discipleship and faith formation for the next generation. 

Seminar: SPIRITUAL GIFTS – This seminar helps the church understand that God has made each person wonderfully unique, with their own life experiences, strengths, and Spiritual gifts—all to serve God and others. Walks the church through biblical Spiritual gifts passages, Spiritual gifts inventory and Using Your Spiritual Gifts (written by Dr. James Nored), and the Strengths Finder tool, with application for ministry teams and for all three major areas of one’s life – work/neighborhood/world settings, family settings, and church settings. 

Seminar: LEADERSHIP for the NEXT GENERATION – Looks at biblical principles of leadership; how to develop, lead, and motivate the next generation; and working together as a leadership team. Seminar presenter / facilitator can meet individually with different team leaders and then as a group, helping the leaders/team understand the Strengths and Spiritual gifts of current leaders as a team based upon three categories of Initiation type of gifts, Execution type of gifts, and Relational type of gifts so that they can work most effectively as a team and address various leadership challenges and opportunities.

Seminar: CONNECTING & EQUIPPING EVERY MINISTRY to Reach the NEXT GENERATION – This seminar looks comprehensively at all of the churches ministries from Children's, Youth, Family Ministry, Spiritual Formation, College, Young Adults, Adult Ministries, Worship, and Missions through the lens of mission and discipleship, seeking to make them more effective in making disciples and impacting and reaching the next generation for Christ. Alternatively, a specific aspect or aspects of these ministries can be concentrated on and looked at through this lens.

Seminar / Module: GIVING SERIES to Reach the Next Generation – Giving is a huge area of discipleship and personal growth, and it helps the church finance the mission of Christ. Through biblical teaching, coaching on effective giving series and practices, and linking of giving to discipleship and mission, this seminar / module seeks to help raise the level of commitment and giving so that God’s people can be generous on every occasion and have all the resources needed to fulfill its mission.
