Hospitality—This gift equips one to enjoy making guests, strangers, and members feel welcome. An example of leading through hospitality would be greeting visitors, directing them to a class, or inviting them into one’s home (Mt. 25:35).

Individuals with the gift of hospitality have the unique ability to make others feel welcome and cared for. Their service is vital in fostering a warm and inclusive church environment. Here are several ways they can serve in church ministries:

1. Welcome Team: Join or lead a welcome team to greet newcomers at church services, providing information and guidance as needed. Staff an information center where guests can learn about church programs, ministries, and events.
2. Hospitality Committee: Serve on a hospitality committee that organizes events and ensures that the church is a welcoming place for all visitors and members.
3. Hosting Fellowship Events: Plan and host fellowship events such as potlucks, picnics, or coffee hours that encourage community building.
4. New Member Integration: Help integrate new members into the church community by organizing welcome dinners or social gatherings.
5. Visitor Follow-Up: Follow up with visitors after services with a phone call, email, or note, offering further connection and information about the church.
6. Meal Ministry: Coordinate or participate in a meal ministry that provides meals to individuals or families during times of need, such as illness or bereavement.
7. Small Group Host: Open your home for small group meetings, Bible studies, or prayer groups, providing a comfortable setting for spiritual growth.

Through these activities, those with the gift of hospitality can significantly contribute to creating a loving and inclusive atmosphere within the church community, embodying the biblical call to love and welcome the stranger as a friend.
